We are delighted to be able to offer this online workshop, delivered by the author of "How to Create Autonomous Learners", Dr Taryn Moir. This workshop uses the textbook as a focus to outline the theory, practice and the implementation of evidence-based approaches to develop essential metacognitive and self-study skills with specific reference to working on developing reading competencies. For example, the workshop will include a review of Strategy Instruction Models, and discussion and comparison of packages that combine strategies (e.g., Reciprocal Reading, Collaborative Strategic Reading, Strathclyde Higher Order Reading Skills Approach - SHORS). The workshop explains how to get students, parents and partners on board and how to implement these ideas across a class, school, or consortium. Full course fee includes copy of textbook "How to create autonomous learners". If you do not wish a copy of the textbook (though strongly encouraged to ensure follow through), insert NOBOOK20 as a coupon code at checkout to reduce the course fee by £20.00. The next date for this course is: Tuesday 24th November 2026 (9.30am-1.00pm) (online).
